Tyre Wear
Knowing when solid tyres need replacing is important - too early and you are overspending and increasing downtime, too late and you risk damaging a forklift or even endangering operators. How quickly a tyre needs replacing is dependent on a number of factors - hours of use, load carried, distance driven, type of surface and how well the forklift is operated.
We recommend that when a tyre’s tread depth is less than 5mm above the 60J line replacement should be considered or it may be possible to have the tyre regrooved/recut. If a tyre’s tread has reached the 60J line it must be replaced as further use may cause damage to the forklift, operator safety may be jeopardized and insurance cover may be invalidated.
